PROFILE OF QUALIFIED PHYSIOTHERAPISTS
The physiotherapist is a health worker who, autonomously or in collaboration with other sanitary orkers, performs activities of prevention, treatments and rehabilitation of upper cortical functions, motion, visceral functions after pathologic events, of different sorts of aetiology, both inborn and cquired. Rehabilitation aims in particular at rehabilitating psycho-motory autonomy of patients, considering them as individual persons.
Lu.de.S. Physiotherapist is able to work autonomously and to cooperate with multidisciplinary teams: he/she deals with functional rehabilitation by means of instrumental physical therapies, manual therapies, hydrokinesitherapy, massotherapy etc. He/she may suggest the adoption of prosthesis and adequate medical tools and helps the patient to use them correctly.
The qualified physiotherapy is required to make a physiotherapy evaluation an to draft an evaluation card, to work out an effective therapeutic plan with short, medium and long term goals, to make a detailed report on patients and correctly carry out physiotherapy treatments.
L.U.de.S. Physiotherapist has furthermore the opportunity to join University research and to easily find a job choosing among some different options: public sector (by means of open competitions), private sector, working as employee or carry out free professions.
